ABOUT
My name is Zanele Myles I am a skilled resource teacher. I completed my Bachelors of Education, as well as, Additional Special Education Qualification courses at Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario. More recently, I received my Master’s of Education with a focus in special education from Memorial University. I have also taken a course in the Orton- Gillingham method (a multisensory program for teaching literacy to dyslexic students). I have an extended amount of experience assisting elementary students with learning challenges in writing, reading and math, as well as, coaching high school and post-secondary students in developing study skills in time management, organization, note taking, summarizing readings, goal setting, transition planning, and self-advocacy.
My passion is in assisting students with learning challenges in developing both academic and study skills that will further their success in school. Even though I am knowledgeable in different academic programs and can draw from these resources, I am a strong believer in customizing my sessions to my individual student’s strengths, needs, and interests.
